Happy New Year my gorgeous ppl!! I have WAY too many Bali pics so I shall save all those for a seperate post. We decided to head down to Cafe Del Mar since Danny and Sabrina were in town and apparently I still haven gotten over beaches even after my Bali trip!

EVERY tourist in Bali was sporting one of these..So I had to get one for my beloved.

Bet you didnt realise I only had one coloured contact lens in..Coz my left eye was hurting like a bitch and I took that lens out leaving me looking like a crazy one green eyed person.

Ta daaaaaa! My 28 piece neutral palette from Coastal Scents!! I was a lil sceptical about how these relatively cheap palettes would perform.. But this palette is amazing! I love how some colours are matte and some are shimmer. But you most definately have to use a base/primer first. I think I paid like USD 21.95 for this.

My new favourite purchase..Bumpits!! So cool I tell you. I would spend like ages teasing my hair to get the 'bump' effect hairstyle..And the teasing damaged my hair quite a bit. Then I saw a spree for these Bumpits and quite literally squealed like a small kid!

All you have to do is place these plastic insets at the base of your crown and flip your hair over the insert..Apply hairspray and ta daaaaa..Instant bump! No need for teasing at all! And they have 3 sizes for all occassions..

I used the Hollywood size (biggest one) for NYE and loved it! Took me like 5 mins to do and lasted the whole night. Takes a lil getting used to though.

On to the shopping hauls! The darling bf sponsored a Body Shop spree..He kept putting stuff in my cart if I spent more than a min looking at them. *Muacks* I loved this eyeshadow palette they had..Its so cute..You can put brushes and lipgloss in the lil drawer..

A lovely LJ fren, Kimoko, informed me of a Loreal private sale that went on this weekend..And as a recent Vichy convert, I had to go and grab some stuff! Sadly they had sold out the stuff I wanted the day before..But I couldn go back empty handed right! Hehe..These items were going for like 5-15 bucks each..Super cheap laa..Considering each would cost abt 40-50 bucks retail..I only spent 70 bucks!

Since I didnt get the stuff at the sale, I had to get it at Guardian but the sets were pretty worth it! I spent $157 for all these! I love Vichy stuff la..VERY good for oily skin. And its not harsh at all..The toner is alcohol free and all the products are suitable for sensitive skin.or so Ive heard.

My new obsession would be with mineral makeup..Specifically Everyday Minerals. I hate wearing heavy foundation and concealer on a daily basis so i decided to try out mineral makeup which is light and is better for your skin. I ordered the free sample kit online and only paid abt USD 5 for shipping. You can choose 3 foundation shades, 1 concealer shade and 1 blush. I ordered 2 sample kits before I found my perfect shade, which would be a mix of Medium Deep and Medium Tan in the Intensive formula which offers the best coverage. So cute right the sample jars!

My favourite day time blush! I ordered full size of 2 blushes from a spree..and I laus them!

I've been staring at my computer screen for 3 hours to find the words..Our dearest Kethrine has left us..Left us all with questions, hurt, pain and raw emotions. She chose the gloomy, rainy day of Nov 8th to end her life..And what a life she ended. Ket was (I cant believe Im using the past tense on her *tear*) a friend I grew up with..We were bestest buddies in primary school along with a whole bunch of girls, Sharmila, Nazreen, Hasnah etc. She was a star even then!! She was always on Chinna Kanmanigal and I remember her going for recordings after school and thinking how lucky she was. She was the dance choreographer for all our school dances. And we always hung out at her place after school. I vividly remember her being the first one to have a grand old Puberty Ceremony at the CC!! Hehe..(And yes you can stop laughing now!)

We drifted apart in secondary school and found each other through our blogs!!! Then the IBM was formed and we were never the same again! Our first meeting was hilarious!! And Ket was the little firecracker that didnt stop. You could always count on her to crack you up with her famous Ket moments!

That was the first and last time all 9 of us turned up. And the next time all 9 of us would be together will be at her funeral later. The thought kills me and fills me with unbelieveable sadness. The Ket I know would never take her own life..She was a strong woman. She's been through ALOT of crap but she was the kind of woman who would sling the crap right back at life and smirk.

She was also a goofball!!! She would cheat at pool so badly..And blast her mangamma songs on her phone at the pool place and dance around without giving two flying fucks about what ppl thought.. She loved taking pics..She loved her sarees..She loved getting her hair done..She loved eating!! She was a tiny girl with a huge ass appetite!
This was at the last meeting we had about 3-4 weeks ago.. She came late and started whacking the food! And gave us a classic Ket moment at Secret Recipe..Butter and oil! God I miss her.. I had asked how things were in her life..And she said good..I wish I had dug deeper..I wish I could have done more..I wish she would have called one of us when she was in doubt. Most of all I wish I could turn back time to her birthday last year when we threw her a suprise party. I wish we were all too busy and didnt show up..So that things would have been different. Coz her birthday was when things started.
I keep going though her blog..She loved taking pics and she was prob the only one of us who regularly updated her blog. I chanced upon this from her blog..You just knew she was strong and would stand up to anything that came her way.

"Though I'm looking forward to the new year, I secretly wish 2008 doesn't have to come. With the start of 2008, alot of things are going to be happening.....no more fooling around and getting down to serious business....a year where major things have to happen and more major events in the following years and I really wish I don't have to do it.....sigh....but we can't stop things from happening right? the inevitable has to happen and the only thing i can do is just pray that things would turn out well.I'm starting the new year with a new attitude. I know it is not going to be easy but I can pull through it. One thing I can be proud of myself; my toughest moments are my best. :):)"

Oh Ket..Why did you think this was the answer??? You have so many people who love you and you just left us with nothing. I called her phone in hopes she would answer and say "Enna la pesurae?" I still can hear her child like voice bubbling with enthusiasm over a new hair treatment she was asking me about last week..Just last week!!!! She was excited for so many new beginnings.

I guess we will never know what went through her mind before she jumped. In our hearts we know she didnt want to..Maybe she slipped after realising she was making a mistake. I just hope that you are finally at peace now, little firecracker..I hope that you know that everyone misses you and we will never be the same again. You have always been the glue that bonded all of us.
When I got the news yesterday, I was suprisingly angry at first. I was angry at you, Ket. That you decided to do this..Then I realised how much of hurt you must have been going through. Its still not a rationalisation for suicide, but I understand. I wish you knew how much you are loved. That nobody would have judged you.That we would all have been by your side, riding the wave together. I've cried till Im numb.. I dont know how Im gonna face seeing you later. But I want to say goodbye. I want you to know that you are SO loved and how much we are all gonna miss you.

I dont want to remember you as the girl who took her life..I want to remember you as the girl FULL of life and zest. The girl who never fails to make anyone around her smile. The girl that took life by the balls. The girl who believed.

Halloween's coming! I cleverly bought 2 capes this year coz I bought this cape (pictured below) first and then fell in love with a shorter one 2 days after! (No Im NOT going as a devil!) My favourite loose powder at the moment..Chacott..Much raved about powder which I just had to try..And its reallly really good at oil control and helps set my makeup. Its HUGE too..This is the 170gm one which cost about 20 bucks..

See how huge it is in comparison to my MAC es! I will never need to buy loose powder again! My new HG shampoo and conditioner! I was gonna buy the Redken shampoo and conditioner at this shop in JE when the sales asst recommended this range to me..Kerasys, a Korean brand. I decided to get it coz it was only 8.90 each and it wouldn kill me to try different brands..Holy shit..This range is the bomb! My hair has never been softer and smoother! And my hair is seriously damaged la..After all the years of bleaching, dyeing, rebonding and perming! I got the Repairing range which totally rocks my socks..I love the smooth, soft feeling!

Ive been so busy its not even funny. But I always have time to shop..Even though 80% of it is through my fav online shopping sprees..Wat would I do without sprees!!! But first a random shot..Of me! Hehehhe..I know...Super lame.

After using that damn Maybelline XXL mascara, my lashes have faded into oblivion.. Okie not really but considerably less. I prefer using my falsies these days coz Im really wary of mascara. So on a whim, I decided to order and try Ardell's Lash and Brow Treatment Gel. Hoping for a miracle. Hehe..Ive been using it for over 2 weeks now..And Ive noticed a slight improvement! My lashes look a lil longer and fuller!

Elf cosmetics have arrived in Singapore! All the cosmetics are USD 1 on the website and the sprees for this site are really popular. I ordered some brushes and blushes from the site before and I really hated the brushes. But I loved the blush. Sasa houses Elf now and there's a promotion where you can buy any 2 Elf products for SGD 9.90. I decided to get a blush and the Drama quad which is essentially a smokey eye quad coz its shades of black, white and silver. I only like 2 shades of the quad coz the other 2 werent really pigmented. But its a handy quad to have if you are travelling.

Had a private celebration for Vijay's birthday with home cooked food, wine and ice cream! No pictures coz we were busy attacking the prawn sambal I had slaved over in the morning! I decided to give him an out of the box present this year since he has bought everything that he wanted already. Seriously, the boy can shop! Got a caricature artist to do a full colour caricature of Vijay with his favourite elements..And he loved it! I did too!!

Sung celebrated her 25th birthday at Brewerkz! Unfortunately the poor girl lost all the pics in her camera due to a error with her memory card..So sadly I dont have the pics I took with her. I only have pics I took with my own camera. Which arent much coz I was having an eye infection and wasnt in too much of a camwhoring mood.

The 26th Birthday at The Fullerton!!!

The darling boyfriend knew how much I was in love with The Fullerton so he booked us a room on my birthday!! *dreamy smile*

It was also Vijay's last day of smoking!! Hehe he made a promise to quit on my birthday!

Reading our package details..The Fullerton staff are so nice and accommodating and they planned lil suprises for me as well..

What a weekend! The days are passing so fast these days..I start work on Monday all bleh-fied and before I know it, its Friday! Which is all good..but WHAT the hell happened to the 1st 6 mths of the year???? It seemed like yesterday I was ushering in the new year..Sigh.Anywayyyss..I met the lovely Ragi on Friday for some Hard Rock indulgence. The food and company was amazing as usual! After Hard Rock, I went down to meet Vijay,Shanu and Nisha at Brewerkz for a bit..

Saturday I had plans to watch Hancock with Vijay. OOOOoooo How yum is Will Smith! *drools* But Vijay, you know you still rock my world! *beams* Vijay always picks me up in a cab when we go out..So I got into the cab as usual and he tells me to close my eyes..Im like okieeeeeeeee..When I open my eyes, I squeal like an excited prom queen!!! Why you say??

Which is why I took a day off on Wednesday to spend with Joanne! Cant wait for her mum's yummy cooking,shopping and possible Cafe Del Mar-ing!!

So lets get the serious business out of the way first. Went for my specialist checkup at NUH-Colorectal Clinic yesterday and I wont deny I was nervous as hell. So basically the doctor needs to do 2 scopes during my surgery coz she's not entirely convinced that its a simple case. Mainly coz my symptoms are pointing to another direction. Sigh..All I can do now is pray that its not anything serious like cancer. I also wanna thank all the lovelies who msged me before, during and after my appt-Vijay,Joanne, Rajah,Nithya,Kanz,Ambiga and Ket..Your words were of much comfort. Anywayyyyyyyyyssss...On to the pictures! I havent camwhored in SO long.So when i got my new makeup samples, I just had to!

Wow..2 posts in a week! What IS the world coming to??? Just a recap post with pics as usual..Sooooo on the 6th June, it was a sorta anniversary for Vijay and myself..Hehehe kinda corny but it was really sweet. So he made reservations at Mezza9 at Hyatt, a restaurant I was dying to go to!

Finally.. I've got the time and the MOOD to blog. ;) As usual, Ive been busy with work and spending what little time I have with the boy on Saturdays. Sundays I stone at home in front of the tv watching back to back episodes of CSI. Ive also finished watching Seasons 1-3 of How I Met Your Mother online and am now starting on Ugly Betty Season 2 and Samantha Who..Ahh the joy of just vegging infront of the lappie in my pjs.

As you can see, I have BANGS! Its a refreshing change and I love it..though its a lil long now and I keep peering from under my bangs at ppl..Pretty creepy..hehehe
Joanne and me pre O Bar clubbing after ages! It was soooooooo much fun hanging out with her and gettin high! We had soo many B52 shots plus vodka redbull jugs. Yum!
Which explains the happy high pics..These days, Ive taken to exploring new places to hang out with the Vijay. We tend to gravitate to places with yummy food and equally yummy ambience. We lurveeeeeeedd Timbre at the Arts House!

Firstly let me apologise to all the IBM ladies for not being able to make it on Fri..I love my job and all but its really taking a toll on my social life. I dont get to see my friends as much I would like to. But hopefully this is temporary. Im swamped now coz I have to understudy my senior producer and follow her to ALL the conferences. But once Im more conference savvy I prob just have to go for my own conferences. Once again Im sorrrrryyyyyy!!

I feel so distant from my oldest and bestest friends. I dont ever get to see them and when I do we just have SO much catching up to do and SO lil time. And no words can express how happy I am that 2 of them have gotten married. Im so glad that they have settled down with their partners. But somehow I feel left out. Maybe its just me but I miss how we used to read each other's minds and do spontaneous activities. Granted..We're all busy with work and life in general. But I wish we could just talk like how we used to. Sigh.

The only place I hang out at more than Amara hotel and my cubicle at work is at the gym! Ive been gymming 3-4 times a week since the start of the year and it feels great! I used to head to Holland V or CQ to drink at least 2-3 times a week previously and it feels better to work out than drink. Seriously. I mean I still enjoy my vodka red bulls and pina coladas, but at least now Im drinking only once a week. My liver is prob screaming Hallelujah at regular intervals. My wallet's prob joining in as well!

Im happy and contented after a long time. I still have my fears and insecurities but Im slowly learning to trust and accept the fact that everyone has their quirks. I guess time will tell eh?

Im off to go get some well deserved sleeppppp..

Goodness..Deepavali is just like 3 days away and I haven done ANYTHING yet! *bites nail* Ive been too busy with makeup assignments,photoshoots and the pageant. Thank god I took a half day last week to just zone out. Went for a Javanese massage with Vijay. OMFG it was awesome! We both felt SO good after they got done with us. I didn want to leave! Then we went to colour Vijay's hair..How hot is he in gold streaks..Yum..I likeeeeeee!! After which we had a very interesting evening at Holland V with Sung and Roger.. *smiles and giggles like an idiot* Life is pretty much perfect these days. Although I am dead tired when I come home everyday, I sleep with a content smile on my face. And nobody can take that away from me.

I wanna talk about waxing..In particular Brazilian waxing..Yes yes..Very taboo subject..Good lil Indian girls dont talk about hair removal procedures..Ballllllllllssssssss to that I say. Okie FINALLY I get to update with pics!! So Wed Sarah,Nikki and myself went for the MAC party for the launch of their new Smoke Signals collection at Club Play..Was okie for a bit but since it was a Wed and all we decided to head to O Bar for a bit till 12ish and Dave decided to join us after work. Was totally fun eating 8inch hotdogs,popcorn and downing yummy B52 shots with the lovelies..

So around 12 my phone started ringing with all the birthday wishes so I headed to the toilet to answer the calls..When I come back to the bar,Sarah was happily taking pics of me on the phone which I tot was weird but why the hell not!! I have been guilty of neglecting my blog..I DO wanna blog but I find it so hard to think at work.So this post is just gonna be random.

So dramatic no? Hehehe..But its true..When WILL I truly love this body? Think abt it, everyone hates some part of their body..You dont need to get me started on my body image issues. It scares me how much I think abt wanting the perfect body. I used to think my bulimic days were over..But I am ashamed and scared. I hate feeling this way. At least now Ive learned to accept how I am and not totally hate how I look. There were days I used to pinch my fats in the mirror and totally break down coz I felt so out of control and disgusted at myself for throwing up. Some days I feel like just giving up on eating healthy and just gorge myself silly at home. But I know I'll just end up sticking my finger down my throat,slumped over the toilet bowl after that.

That's what I almost did today.. I went to the toilet with the sole intention of making myself puke.. But I looked at the toilet bowl and I looked at myself in the mirror and I said to myself..No..No more..I cant do this to myself anymore. And I walked out of the toilet. Coz nobody or nothing is worth this self destruction and this self hate..

I realized Im not content with life..Sure I party,I have a good job, I have an amazing family and fantastic friends..But I have this need to prove something to myself..To push myself harder..I dunno what exactly I have to do but I guess it'll come to me sooner or later..I find myself contemplating how much my life has changed on many long bus rides home..Ive made plenty of new friends..Lost a few old ones..Became a much stronger person..Discovered I can do something if I put my mind to it..And realised that yes..One CAN be happy being single..Yes sure, I still want to fall in love and all but for the moment Im actually happy where I am.The more you go looking for something, the more it will NEVER happen..Like how you go shopping specifically for a white shirt.I swear you will never be able to find the perfect white shirt tat day.But go window shopping with no intentions to buy anything and you may very well end up with that white shirt!

Strange how I associate everything with shopping..Hehehe..

Speaking of shopping,I went shopping with Sung on Fri after a yummy dinner at Hard Rock Cafe (ooo eye candy everywhere!!)..The Chaos sale is AMAZING! I laus laus Chaos esp when everything's going for like 30-50% off the normal prices..So go shop at Chaos!

I know ya guys cant see the pics for the previous post..Working on it!! Anyhoo I had an awesome weekend!! Sat I went for the NUS show..Wasnt too bad..But I left in the middle to meet Vijay and Sung at Holland V (Which is becoming my second home these days!)..We had an interesting game of 'Ive Never' !!! Hehe..But I couldnt wait for Sunday coz we were heading to Sentosa to celebrate Lilah's birthday!

Have I mentioned I LOVE Sentosa! We had a ball of a time going on the Skyride..Me being the wimp I am, hung on to the metal bar so tight I swear I left impressions..Hehe..I find all these rides that throw you up into air very unnatural.Im sure God did not mean for us to get whiplash and bruises from rides called Music Dance Dance..Anyways..I LOVE Sentosa!!

Lilah had NO clue we had planned a HUGE suprise for her..She thought it was a girl's day out at the beach..Little did she know we had plenty up our sleeves!! We brought her to Cafe Del Mar on the pretext of getting drinks..And tadaaaaa..There was Hamzah (her husband) and Dave, waiting with her fav cake all lit with candles!!!! She was so shocked she actually shrieked! After all the cake cutting was done we made her open her present! Hehe Sarah and myself got creative with the present and got her..Ahem..A vibrator!! A very pretty one with diamante from this wonderful shop called Oohtique! Weeee..Another 2 weeks of fun,fun,fun!!! Hehe..I know i know..All my updates seem to be of the partying nature..But you see, after working the whole week, all I look forward to is my Sat night clubbing! Or just hanging out with awesome friends..I went to Dbl O on a Thurs coz Sung invited me down with her friends..So I dragged Priya and Sobban along for some 'Lets celebrate coz its 2 days to the weekend' clubbing! Hehe..Then of coz we headed to O Bar on Sat for our usual $12 jugs of yummy vodka cranberry!! Cant believe the ex was there with my group..Sigh..It was hard being normal coz I kept replaying the last time I saw him..Which wasnt a very good memory..But I guess he got what he deserved. As usual me and Priya got click happy with the camera and started our camwhoring..But who doesnt love a good camwhore rite? *Evil smile*

Introducing Vijay..Hehe..What started out throught the wonders of cyberspace,ended up with me getting a job and getting to know a gem of a man..Vijay works in the same building I do..And is turning out to be a wonderful friend who has been there for me when I was really really down. Plus he's been introducing me to all these wonderful people like Arwa,Sung,Danny etc..Plus he wears Polo Black..*Evil Grin* Wats not to like? Hehe..

We celebrated Hamzah's birthday on Fri..Weeeee..Tat was one awesome night..Headed to Rupee Room first..Great ambience but drinks are a lil pricey and service needs to be worked on..But otherwise a wonderful place to chill..Then we headed to Harry's and tat was when it all went downhill for me..I had 1 Long Island Tea at Rupee Room and an Around The World at Harry's..I was in my happy place after tat..I swear tat was the 1st time Sarah and Lilah saw me high..But I'm a fun drunk! After which we all proceeded to Sahara for sheesha..And I desperately wanted a Slow Comfortable Screw..Yess..You heard me rite..Hehe..The drink laaa..Jeezus. Same reactions from Sarah and Vijay tat night too..Though I dont remember alot of the details from tat night, I do remember Sarah licking cream off my neck,Vijay licking Hamzah's arm and me licking my own finger..Hehehe..Told ya it was an awesome night!

And the highlight of the week..I got my tongue pierced!!! I am loving it! Shoppingggggggg..Technically I haven had the chance to actually indulge in any GSS shopping as of YET..But I have been doing alot of online shopping..Presenting my recent haul of pigments!! Lots of changes..Good ones!! Hehe..Let's start with my wonderful mid week retreat to Tanjon Pinang..I laus the massages and food there!! *Drools* But I still prefer Batam..The men stare less there..Hehe..

So then I dyed my hair black..Coz I was bored of looking like every other brown-blonde Indian girl out there..So back to the basics..Though my brother found it hilarious that I paid $150 to dye my hair back to my original colour..Pfft..Men. What do they know..Met the lovelies for sheesha and yummy Middle Eastern food at El-Sheik in Arab St..I highly recommend the place for some after work/sch chill out sessions. I also finally caught Pirates 3 with William after 1 week of trying to get tickets..Hmmm I still preferred the first 2 movies..This one was super draggy and long. But more Johnny Depp!! Hehe

The girls wanted to club on Wednesday so I rushed home from Sarah's place to get ready..Headed to Chillies for drinks before boogying the night away at Gotham!! Had fun with the girls after a long time..

Yest I had dinner plans with the SIM gang at Honjin Japanese Restaurant..Ooooo their buffet was so yum..Expensive but yum!! I loved the soup which was aptly named..get this ahh.. Nabe..Hehehehe..Yes..NABE..That's the kind of soup that's served in the non-burning paper. It was good catching up with the gang and hearing all the 'happy' news!! Congrats Kelly!! Then headed to Chillies for a bit coz Honjin was pretty near Boat Quay. Met Hema and her friend Suba for some alcoholic indulgence..Mmmm Long Island Tea..I swear no one lets me be non alcoholic..Hmmmpphh..

Like nail salons and hair colour, finding the ideal man can be a frustrating and lengthy process of try and try again. But then shopping around can help to speed things up. Welcome to the age of multi-dating..Aka MY LIFE..The entire process of 1) Getting to know a guy, 2) Finding out he's not the one for you. 3) Getting over him so you can try again with someone new takes a long ass time.
